During a visit to South Ukraine NPP, the President of SE «NNEGC «Energoatom» Petro Kotin inspected the russian missile hit point and the resulting damage to the plant's buildings

He emphasized that this is a real act of nuclear terrorism on the part of the russian federation. «Therefore, the world community should take all measures to ensure that russia never again tries to carry out acts of nuclear terrorism against Ukrainian nuclear facilities,» Energoatom CEO stressed. Moreover, he added that it is vitally important to deprive the russian federation of the very possibility of committing such terror.

At the same time, Petro Kotin noted, Energoatom is taking measures to eliminate the consequences of shelling. Currently, the SUNPP is operating smoothly, the damaged lines have been restored, and the infrastructure damaged by the explosion is being repaired as well.

As a reminder, on September 19, 2022, at 00:20 am, the russian army carried out a missile attack on the industrial site of the South Ukraine nuclear power plant.

A powerful explosion occurred just 300 m away from the SUNPP reactors. The shock wave damaged the NPP buildings as well as over 100 windows were broken. One of the hydropower units of the Oleksandrivska HPP, which is part of the South Ukrainian power complex, has shut down. Three high-voltage power lines were down as well.
