SS «Energoatom-Trading» effects electricity sales:

  • under bilateral agreements;

  • in the day-ahead market;

  • in the intraday market;

  • in the balancing market.

Electricity is sold in the bilateral agreement market under the «Procedure for electronic auctions for the sale of electricity under bilateral agreements», approved by the Ordinance of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of 05.06.2019 № 499. By the Ordinance of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of 28.07.2021 № 791, the Procedure was supplemented by the «Procedure for holding a special session on the sale of packages of lots under bilateral agreements».

Trading in the day-ahead and the intraday markets is carried out under Regulations for the day-ahead and the intraday markets, approved by the Ordinance of the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission of Ukraine of 14.03.2018 № 308.

The balancing market activities are regulated by the Regulations for the market approved by the Ordinance of the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission of Ukraine of March 14, 2018 № 307.

In August 2021, SE «NNEGC «Energoatom» started operating in the market of ancillary services. Zaporizhzhya NPP became the first nuclear power plant to gain the right to provide ancillary services in the trade zone of UPS of Ukraine.

The integration of the UPS of Ukraine into the pan-European power system ENTSO-E has opened the door for the export of Ukrainian electric power. In June 2022, SS «Energoatom-Trading» started supplying electricity to Moldova.

SE «NNEGC «Energoatom» has great potential for increasing the volume of electricity generation, thus its export to Moldova, and later to neighbouring EU countries, is an extremely promising area of trade activity.
