The progress of the repair campaign was discussed at one of the domestic NPPs

Today, Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko, Head of JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom” Petro Kotin, and Head of the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine Oleh Korikov discussed the progress and preliminary results of the repair campaign via video link with the management and staff of one of Ukraine's nuclear power plants.

German Galushchenko that power nuclear professionals are doing everything possible to ensure that Ukrainians have electricity: “Today, another nuclear power unit came out of scheduled repair and maintenance ahead of schedule, but in compliance with all safety standards. Its connection will help to balance the country's power system and avoid electricity restrictions.”

Petro Kotin also spoke about the efforts made by the Company's employees to connect the power units to the grid after repairs as soon as possible: “The nuclear team faces an important task – to ensure the operation of all nine power units located in the territory controlled by Ukraine by the beginning of the heating season.”

The Head of Energoatom also noted that the early connection of another power unit to the grid would ensure a more stable electricity supply and help to avoid power outages in Ukrainian homes. “This became possible thanks to our nuclear power professionals' prompt and professional work,” added Energy Minister German Galushchenko.

On behalf of the Ministry of Energy and Energoatom, Petro Kotin presented awards to the employees of the nuclear power plant for conscientious performance of their duties, high professionalism, significant contribution to the development and functioning of the national nuclear power industry and on the occasion of the Independence Day of Ukraine!
