"New overhead transmission line is the strengthening of Ukraine's energy visa-free regime" – Petro Kotin

President of SE "NNEGC "Energoatom" Petro Kotin visited one of the NPP substations, with which the Ukrainian and European power systems will be connected via an overhead line. Currently, the test run mode is underway.

Petro Kotin emphasized that the Ukrainian nuclear power professionals had made a tremendous amount of work: "This is the strengthening of the energy visa-free regime, which the President of Ukraine spoke about a year ago, and we did everything on time and with high quality."

He thanked the builders, contractors and everyone involved in the restoration of the line. In addition, the President of the Company awarded the employees with badges, rewards, letters of acknowledgement, and certificates of appreciation for their efforts in this work.

"This is a great achievement for Ukraine, which changes our role in the European Union and will enable the sale of electricity to our partners in the future. However, it's just the beginning. After all, the construction of small modular reactors, new power units, the production of nuclear fuel components, and the implementation of other projects lie ahead. We will do everything on time, we have enough strength for everything," Petro Kotin assured.

The renovated line opens up new prospects for Ukraine, and will also become another reliable component of the Ukrainian power system as part of the European power grid.
