This year marks the 20th anniversary of the commissioning of Khmelnytskyi NPP unit 2 (in August) and Rivne NPP unit 4 (in October). These units are among those that Energoatom has built since Ukraine became independent.
Investments in the completion of Khmelnytskyi and Rivne NPPs, new jobs, development of related industries, and social infrastructure significantly influenced the GDP growth of Ukraine in those years.
The head of Energoatom emphasizes that true energy independence, accelerated post-war recovery, and the development of our country are impossible without new nuclear capacities. No other electricity generation technologies will be able to replace nuclear power soon.
That is why, according to him, Ukraine needs new nuclear facilities.
