August 29 is the Day of Remembrance of the Fallen Defenders of Ukraine

Since 2019, Ukraine has been honoring the warriors who died for our country's independence, freedom and decent life of Ukrainians. This date is associated with one of the most tragic episodes of the russian-Ukrainian war, when in 2014 our warriors were breaking out of the encirclement near Ilovaisk. Terrorists shot at a column of Ukrainian soldiers, whose path ran through a “green corridor” through sunflower fields.

russia's full-scale military aggression in 2022 opened a new page of heroism, courage and losses of Ukraine in the struggle for independence.

Indeed, we will rebuild roads, houses, theaters, hospitals and monuments. However, we will no longer see the people killed by this war. This is painful to accept and difficult to put into reality. Because these deaths should not have happened...

The war is ongoing – and every year on August 29, we remember and honor the memory of all fallen warriors.

We pay an extremely high price for freedom. That is why we must do everything we can to preserve the memory of our fallen heroes for generations to come.

Heroes never die!
