Ukrainian delegation led by Herman Halushchenko participates in the 67th session of the IAEA General Conference

The Ukrainian delegation headed by the Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko is participating in the 67th session of the IAEA General Conference. The team also includes President of SE "NNEGC "Energoatom" Petro Kotin, Acting Chairman of the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine Oleh Korikov, and First Deputy Chairman of the State Agency of Ukraine on Exclusion Zone Management Andriy Tymchuk.

Among the priority topics of the session are the activities of the IAEA in the field of nuclear and physical security as well as increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of the Agency's guarantees. In particular, a substantive discussion of the issues of nuclear safety and guarantees in Ukraine is planned.

For Ukraine, participation in the event is crucial in order to draw the attention of the international community to the state of nuclear and radiation safety in Ukraine during the war, in particular to the situation at the ZNPP.

Within the framework of the conference, the Ukrainian delegation led by Herman Halushchenko plans to hold several meetings, in particular, with the IAEA Director General Raphael Grossi and the US Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm. Furthermore, the meetings with the head of the United Kingdom delegation – Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State (Minister for Nuclear and Networks) Andrew Bowie, the head of the EU delegation Massimo Garribba, the head of the Canadian delegation – Ambassador to Austria and Permanent Representative to the International Organizations in Vienna Troy Lulashnyk and the President of the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission Rumina Velshi, the US Under Secretary of Energy for Nuclear Security Jill Hruby, the head of the Polish delegation –Undersecretary of State Mr. Adam Guibourgé-Czetwertyński, and head of the French delegation – CEA General Administrator François Jacq are scheduled.
