On January 25, 2023, the eighth meeting of the Cluster on Energy, Transport, Environment, Climate Action and Civil Protection of the Ukraine-EU Subcommittee on Economic and Sectoral Cooperation began. The event was attended by the Vice-President of SE «NNEGC «Energoatom» Hartmut Jacob, who briefed those present on the current state of the nuclear industry in our country.

He stressed that the actions of the russian Armed Forces in Ukraine pose a direct threat to the nuclear safety and security of domestic nuclear power plants, while the situation at the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant remains alarming. At the same time, even during the war, Energoatom keeps working on the implementation of existing and new investment projects, in particular regarding the construction of new NPPs.

The European partners emphasized that they fully support the demand of the Ukrainian side for the complete de-occupation of the ZNPP and are ready to continue to provide the necessary assistance and support to the nuclear energy industry of Ukraine.

Energoatom is grateful to everyone who helps ensure the safe operation of Ukrainian NPPs.
