The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the draft law «On the joint-stock company «National Nuclear Energy Generating Company «Energoatom» (registration No. 8067) in the first reading.
It proposes to determine the procedure for the establishment of the joint-stock company «NNEGC «Energoatom», 100% of which is state-owned, as well as the procedure for forming authorized capital and the operation of this company.
The President of SE «NNEGC «Energoatom» Petro Kotin thanked the people's deputies for the adopted decision and noted that «the draft law on Energoatom’s corporatization takes into account all the peculiarities of the Ukrainian nuclear industry during the transition to a modern model of corporate management, and will also increase the Company's capitalization and accelerate the development of the domestic nuclear energy industry.»
