President and CEO of CAMECO Tim Hitzel is convinced that cooperation between Energoatom and CAMECO will only continue strengthening, given Ukraine’s plans to extend nuclear capacities. He expressed that in his video address to the participants of the International Conference “Nuclear Energy Opportunities for Country’s Development: Wartime and Postwar Reconstruction.”
“We are incredibly proud to be playing a key role in supporting Ukraine’s energy independence and security. We are not only proud to meet 100% of Energoatom’s fuel needs. Our partnership includes technical guidelines needed to support Ukraine’s domestic uranium production,” Tim Hitzel said.
CAMECO can also support programs for the construction of new power units in Ukraine, while providing nuclear fuel to the existing nuclear fleet.
“This partnership would not have been possible without the strong relationship we have built with Energoatom over the past few years,” President and CEO of CAMECO emphasized, adding that the Canadian company would continue to contribute to the well-being of Ukraine and its people.
