On September 17, 1996, the sixth power unit of the Zaporizhzhia NPP was put into industrial operation

On this day, the first nuclear power unit, put into operation in independent Ukraine and the youngest ZNPP unit, should have celebrated 28 years of safe operation for the benefit of our state and its citizens.

However, 26 years of successful operation were replaced with more than two years of deep degradation brought by the russian occupation of the Zaporizhzhia NPP.

“the ruscists turned our pride – the largest nuclear power plant in Europe - into a military base. Everything they know how to do and do is the following: they destroy and destruct, leaving a scorched earth behind. However, the ZNPP will definitely return to the control of Ukraine, and Energoatom specialists will make every effort to restore its operation!” Petro Kotin, Head of NNEGC emphasized.
