Modular town for nuclear employees: first residents accommodated in Netishyn

The process of accommodating nuclear employees of the occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP, currently working at the Khmelnytskyi NPP, into temporary houses in Netishyn started. The first stage of construction, a group of four buildings for 48 people, was put into operation.

The solemn ceremony of settling the first residents of the modular town was attended by Head of JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom” Petro Kotin, Director General of the branch SS “KhNPP” Andrii Kozyura, and representatives of the Swedish Embassy in Ukraine: Secretary of the Embassy Ms. Sofia Westberg, Counselor of the Swedish Embassy Ms. Petra Andersson Erhardy.

Petro Kotin expressed gratitude to the representatives of the Kingdom of Sweden for supporting Ukraine in the fight against the aggressor, as the establishment of the modular town was being performed with the assistance of the Swedish government and at the own expense of JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom”. He emphasized that Energoatom would continue to work on ensuring decent living conditions for the nuclear power plant workers of the Zaporizhzhia NPP, involved in restoration work on Units 3 and 4 of the Khmelnytskyi NPP for the time being.

“These houses allow the Zaporizhzhia employees to live comfortably until the deoccupation of the ZNPP. Today, the first phase, four houses, has been completed, as it was important to ensure the availability of shelter. In total, 325 people will be accommodated here,” Head of NNEGC noted.

He added that more than 700 nuclear employees, who were forced to leave the ZNPP due to russian occupation, were working at the Khmelnytskyi NPP site for the time being: “I believe that the time will come when everyone will be able to return to their homes. Glory to Ukraine!”

This project is an example of unity of the Ukrainian people, the support of the international community, and invincibility in confronting the aggressor. Comfortable housing conditions will help preserve the professional potential of nuclear industry employees, which is critically important for energy security of Ukraine.
