SE "NNEGC "Energoatom" keeps developing domestic nuclear generation. Meanwhile, the change in the form of legal entity’s incorporation will open up even more opportunities for the Company to strengthen Ukrainian energy independence and security.
Due to the attraction of foreign investments and the powers of the Supervisory Committee, which will focus on making business decisions, the construction of new nuclear facilities will be able to speed up significantly.
The introduction of the advanced reactor technologies, for which Energoatom has already signed memorandums of cooperation with NuScale, Rolls-Royce, Holtec, Westinghouse and other leading companies in the nuclear industry, will also take place faster.
Therefore, corporatization will provide a significant impetus for further development and expansion of Ukrainian nuclear generation. Moreover, the new nuclear facilities, in turn, will strengthen the development of other industries, providing them with larger amounts of electricity. And this will give the Ukrainian economy a major impetus to attract investors and build new industrial facilities (plants, factories, etc.).
As Vice President of Energoatom Hartmut Jacob stressed, "Investments and financing of new projects will increase the capitalization of Energoatom, because the fair value of its assets will be established."
For his part, President of SE "NNEGC "Energoatom" Petro Kotin emphasized that the transition to a modern model of corporate governance will take place with the support of the best experts from the world's leading countries and authoritative international organizations.
"Having secured the support of our partners, with whom Energoatom already cooperates today, and having even more effective management due to the transformation of the state-owned enterprise into a joint-stock company, we will be able to start a real nuclear renaissance in Ukraine," he said.
Furthermore, Petro Kotin highlighted that in the process of corporatization, all social guarantees remain for NPP teams, just as the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant will remain a part of Energoatom.
