Today, September 16, 2022, President of SE «NNEGC «Energoatom» Petro Kotin, during his visit to the Khmelnytskyy nuclear power plant, held a meeting on current issues of the Company and KhNPP operation. The meeting was also attended by the head of Khmelnytskyy regional military administration Serhii Hamalii and People's Deputy of Ukraine Olena Kopanchuk.
During the meeting, the issues of Energoatom operation in wartime were discussed, in particular, preparation for the autumn-winter period, protection of the nuclear plant in conditions of military aggression as well as other crucial issues of KhNPP operation.
The plant-wide emergency response drill summary was another important topic. The drill was held on September 14 and was based on a simulated scenario of a utility accident that occurred due to the military actions of the aggressor country.
Furthermore, during the meeting, Energoatom's work progress on the restoration of the KhNPP – Rzeszow high-voltage transmission line was discussed. Currently, the responsible divisions of the Company are actively engaged in repair works that are within the competence of Energoatom and are carried out at the Khmelnytskyy NPP outdoor switchgear. These works are planned to be completed within the next three months. After the execution of all works on the restoration of this line by other project participants – NPC Ukrenergo and the Polish side – Ukraine will be able to supply additionally up to 1000 MWh of electricity to European countries.
Lastly, Energoatom CEO gave departmental awards to a number of Khmelnytskyy NPP employees.
In addition, Petro Kotin and Serhii Hamalii met with operational personnel of KhNPP and answered their questions.
