Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States to Ukraine Bridget A. Brink familiarized herself with the operation of power unit 1 of the Khmelnytsky NPP

Within the framework of participation in the ceremony of laying the first concrete cube for the KhNPP Unit 5, the head of Energoatom Petro Kotin and the Director General of the Khmelnytsky NPP Andrii Koziura familiarized Ambassador of the United States to Ukraine Bridget Brink and the CEO and President of Westinghouse Electric Company Patrick Fragman with the operation of power unit 1.

Honoured guests visited the main control room of the VVER-1000 reactor, as well as the turbine hall of the power unit. According to Patrick Fragman, the KhNPP Unit 5, to be built in several years using the AP1000 technology, will have significant advantages over the Soviet-style reactor – the American reactor is more automated, more maneuverable and more powerful. Ms. Bridget A. Brink left a comment in the logbook in memory of her visits to the power unit, thanking the indomitable nuclear power specialists for their extremely important work.
