Petro Kotin discussed the development of joint projects in Ukraine with representatives of the U.S. Embassy

The head of Energoatom Petro Kotin, together with the Deputy Head of the U.S. Mission in Ukraine Robert Needham, paid attention to directions for strengthening cooperation in the field of nuclear energy.

The head of NNEGC emphasized that the Company is carrying out corporatization, within which 100% of the shares will continue to be owned by the state. Currently, the process of selecting candidates for the Supervisory Board is underway. The changes in the structure of Energoatom will increase the Company's competitiveness on the international market as well as contribute to attracting new partners and foreign investors to the implementation of joint nuclear projects.

«We are on the brink of starting the construction of the first AP1000 power unit with Westinghouse at the Khmelnytsky NPP site. Another American company, Holtec International, is our main partner for the implementation of small modular reactors – with them, among other things, we are committed to build production facilities in our country. The successful implementation of these plans would certainly be a hefty investment in the post-war recovery and maintenance of Ukraine's energy security,» Petro Kotin said.

In his turn, Robert Needham assured that the U.S. remains a reliable partner of Ukraine in the confrontation with russia. He stressed that the partnership of American and Ukrainian companies is reaching a new level.

After the meeting, Petro Kotin together with representatives of the Embassy visited an exhibition of children's drawings dedicated to the anniversary of the occupation of the Zaporizhzhia NPP.
