During their visit to the site of the future construction of Unit 5 of the Rivne NPP, which will be built using the Westinghouse AP1000 technology, the representatives of foreign companies – partners of Energoatom – emphasized their strong support for the construction of new nuclear power facilities in our country and their readiness to expand cooperation with Ukraine in the field of nuclear power industry.
In particular, President and CEO of the Canadian company CAMECO Tim Hitzel, who joined the event via video link, made note of the long-term productive cooperation with Energoatom and interest in the further implementation of joint projects.
Riaz Awan, Vice President of the American company Holtec International, emphasized that Energoatom was performing the most complex and extremely important mission among the power companies of the world, and Holtec International was going hand in hand, was ready and would support all projects of the development of Ukrainian nuclear power industry.
“We are looking forward to the start of construction of new power units in Ukraine, in particular, Unit 5 of the Rivne NPP,” Riaz Awan said.
The representative of Westinghouse in Ukraine Oleksandr Ryhlo reminded that Energoatom and the American company were implementing a number of large-scale projects. One of them is the construction of power units using AP1000 technology. According to the representative of Westinghouse, the company is proud of this cooperation and is ready to provide Ukraine with advanced technologies within the framework of the implementation of all joint projects.
