Zaporizhzhya NPP employees are nominated for Arms Control Person(s) of the Year

The Arms Control Association nominates individuals and teams for Arms Control Person(s) of the Year annually.

This year, the ZNPP staff is nominated for their heroic efforts to maintain nuclear safety and security at the plant under conditions of immense hardship resulting from the russian military occupation and amid continued shelling of the ZNPP facility.

The nominees for the honorary title are recognized for significant efforts to promote effective arms control, non-proliferation and disarmament, maintaining nuclear and radiation security, as well as raised awareness of the threats posed by mass casualty weapons.

"We understand that this nomination is a small consolation, as the people of Ukraine are experiencing hardships and losses caused by the invasion, but we hope that the nomination will help to further highlight the important efforts of the people serving and operating Zaporizhzhya NPP and encourage them to persevere. Thank you for your contribution to a safer world," the award organizers emphasized.

The winner will be determined by the results of online voting, which began on December 8, 2022 and will last until January 12, 2023.

The results will be announced on January 13.
