Even during the repair campaign, Energoatom produces about 50% of the state's electricity needs

That was stated by head of Energoatom Petro Kotin, during a production meeting with the management and staff of the South Ukraine NPP.

Nuclear employees discussed:

  • main indicators of the Company for the first 4 months of 2024;
  • steps to implement the Energy Strategy of Ukraine and build 10 GW of nuclear facilities by 2050;
  • subsequent stage of NNEGC corporatization;
  • steps towards Energoatom’s long-term self-provision with nuclear fuel.

Head of NNEGC thanked the employees of the SUNPP for their professionalism, efficient work and significant contribution to the support of the state's energy system.

“Even now, when we have stopped several units for refueling using fresh nuclear fuel in order to work at full capacity in winter, Energoatom generates about 50% of electricity for our country's needs. All this is the result of our joint work. The work of each of you,” Petro Kotin said.

In the end, head of NNEGC gave awards to the nuclear specialists from the Ministry of Energy and Energoatom for conscientious performance of their work duties, high professionalism, responsible work and significant contribution to the development of the nuclear power industry of Ukraine.
