President of SE "NNEGC "Energoatom" Petro Kotin together with Khmelnytskyy NPP Director General Andriy Kozyura monitored the course of design and repair and restoration works of Khmelnytskyy NPP power unit 3.
The construction of new power units is an important part of the Energy Strategy of Ukraine until 2050 as achieving the set goals is possible, in particular, due to the development of modern and safe nuclear generation.
After inspecting the progress of the construction, Petro Kotin held a Command Centre meeting on the completion of the power unit and emphasized: "Currently, we should work at full strength because the development of the nuclear industry is our energy independence and security. russia’s invasion made the whole world understand how important the energy front is today."
Among other things, the progress of works on the site regarding the arrangement of hard-surfaced entrances to fire hydrants was inspected.
The restoration works on the existing building structures of the power unit are carried out by efforts of Zaporizhzhya NPP nuclear power professionals, who were forced to leave the power plant due to the occupation.
"Part of our staff, who worked at the ZNPP before the invasion, is now here and put their efforts into the construction of a new power unit. After all, this process is possible only if there are skilled personnel, which, fortunately, we have enough of", the President of the Company said and added that Energoatom will keep doing its utmost to develop the nuclear industry in Ukraine.
