“Nashi Hroshi” has published another “sensational” materials by the “whistle-blower” Yu. Nikolov, containing false accusations against NNEGC “Energoatom”.
To the attention of all the “experts” speculating on the topic of the completion of the Khmelnytskyi NPP, we declare:
The feasibility study is a key document for the adoption of the draft law on the construction of Units 3 and 4 of the Khmelnytskyi NPP. The governmental law approved such a feasibility study as long ago as 2018.
At the same time, Energoatom, in accordance with the decision of the Energy Committee of the Verkhovna Rada, ordered a service to update the feasibility study on the Prozorro website. JSC “Energoproekt”, which is the author of the initial feasibility study draft for the Khmelnytskyi NPP, was chosen as the contractor. No other organization can provide the necessary level of expertise and experience.
At the same time, manipulative statements regarding the cost of the reactor equipment of the Belene NPP, which is the property of the government of the Republic of Bulgaria, are irrelative, since commercial negotiations are still ongoing. Today, according to the decision of the Bulgarian Parliament, the cost of the said equipment is USD 600 mln.
The validity period of the commercial offer of the Bulgarian side will expire in the first decade of March this year. Ukraine has only a month to make the necessary decision. Whether the Bulgarian side will extend the offer under these conditions is currently unknown.
Paradoxically, but the same “investigators” who previously accused Energoatom of non-compliance with procedures are now criticizing the Company for strict compliance with those.
The fact that the authors of the publication deliberately continue to replicate key narratives of hostile propaganda about the alleged dependence of the Ukrainian nuclear industry on russian technologies is extremely worrying.
Despite numerous explanations given by Energoatom about the successful transition to Western nuclear technologies and equipment, the team of “investigators”-grant receivers are obstinate in repeating disinformation that harms Ukraine’s energy security and unsettle confidence in the process of developing the nuclear industry.
We emphasize that the Khmelnytskyi NPP completion project has the support of the international partners of Ukraine. The world leader in nuclear energy, the American company Westinghouse, is a key technological partner of the project. In an official letter to JSC “Energoatom”, Mr. Aziz Dag, Managing Director of Westinghouse Electric Sweden, confirmed the development of the production of nuclear fuel for use in VVER-1000 reactors delivered from the Bulgarian Belene NPP, which are planned to be installed at Units 3 and 4 of the KhNPP.
Despite all the challenges of wartime, JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom” continues to operate transparently and effectively, ensuring the energy independence of Ukraine.
