Despite the war and the global crisis, Energoatom and Westinghouse expand cooperation and continue implementing joint projects

On June 2, a representative international delegation consisting of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sweden to Ukraine Tobias Thyberg, the President and CEO of Westinghouse Electric Company Patrick Fragman and the Vice President and Managing Director of Westinghouse Aziz Dag visited the Khmelnytskyy nuclear power plant together with the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Halushchenko and the President of SE «NNEGC «Energoatom» Petro Kotin.

During this official visit, distinguished guests and long-term partners of Ukraine were given a tour around the power plant, showed its unfinished third unit, and Petro Kotin and Patrick Fragman unveiled a memorial sign at the KhNPP site on the occasion of the start of construction of units 5 and 6 using AP1000® technology.

NNEGC «Energoatom» and Westinghouse Electric Company also signed three crucial agreements: for increasing the number of NPP power units to be built using American technology, for the supply of nuclear fuel and the establishment of a Ukrainian «branch» of the Westinghouse engineering center.
