Volodymyr Zelenskyi calls on the Parliament to support the completion of KhNPP units 3 & 4

On February 4, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi met with Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi. He thanked Mr. Grossi for supporting Ukraine's strategy to complete the nuclear units at Khmelnytskyi NPP.

“I am grateful to the IAEA Director General for supporting the Ukrainian strategy of completing nuclear units at Khmelnytskyi NPP. The completion project is the key to Ukraine's energy independence and energy stability of the region, and it is important that the people's deputies of Ukraine support it,” President of Ukraine noted.

Currently, the construction readiness of Khmelnytskyi NPP unit 3 is about 80%, while unit 4 is 25%. The completion of these power units will create about 3,000 new jobs.

Ukraine has already proven its ability to withstand russia's energy blackmail, but the country's future depends on long-term strategic decisions. Completing KhNPP units is one of these decisions that will provide the country with clean, safe, and domestic electricity for decades to come.
