Ukraine, the USA, and Bulgaria: a triangle of nuclear energy development

The Atlantic Council has presented its arguments on strengthening Ukraine's energy system by completing Khmelnytskyi NPP units 3 and 4.

Bulgaria, Ukraine, and Westinghouse are already cooperating in one way or another: Energoatom uses fuel from the U.S. company and plans to construct new units with the AP1000 reactor. Bulgaria, in turn, will also build its new nuclear power plants with Westinghouse.

Through joint efforts, the countries can accelerate this movement to develop the nuclear industry. An additional bonus is a benefit to Europe's long-term energy security: by their example, Ukraine and Bulgaria can show other countries how to do without russian nuclear technologies.
