Gas turbine mobile power plant from U.S. Agency for International Development trialed in test mode

On October 4, 2023, a gas turbine mobile power plant was tested. It was provided by USAID as part of technical assistance to the energy sector of Ukraine, which is damaged due to regular terrorist attacks by the russian federation.

President of SE "NNEGC "Energoatom" Petro Kotin inspected the site, the equipment and the start-up of the facility. The installed capacity of the mobile power plant is 28 MW. Due to such an installation, energy production is localized in the region, which will strengthen the Ukrainian energy network.

After receiving the equipment and installing it at one of the critical infrastructure facilities, Energoatom’s head informed that Company prepared a production team that would work with the mobile installation.

"Energoatom’s specialists," Petro Kotin emphasized, "did everything they could to fulfill the task set by the Ministry of Energy – to start up the power plant before the next heating season. Despite the delay in the arrival of components, this task will be carried out, the installation is already operating in test mode and will be connected to the grid on October 10-12, 2023."

Furthermore, Energoatom’s head held a production meeting with professionals who were involved in the installation and start-up of the facility and the staff who will maintain the power plant, defined the tasks related to the organization of further work and thanked the Company's specialists for their high-quality work.
