On February 2-3, 2023, a meeting of the Council of Chief Engineers of SE «NNEGC «Energoatom» was held under the chairmanship of the Acting First Vice President – Chief Technical Officer Yurii Sheiko and the Chief Engineer of the SS «Scientific &Technical Center» – the Chair of the Council of Chief Engineers Oleh Hodun.
The chief engineers of Ukrainian nuclear power plants and service divisions of Energoatom discussed ensuring the further safe operation of nuclear power units amid russian military aggression and under conditions of influence of external factors on Ukraine's energy system.
In particular, issues of minimizing risks in accordance with existing threats, optimizing repair schedules, and ensuring safe working conditions for personnel are vitally important for safety.
It is emphasized that the power units of Ukraine's nuclear power plants operate under conditions that have not yet occurred in the world practice of nuclear installations operation.
For reference: The meeting of the Council of Chief Engineers is held in order to develop recommendations on enhancement of safety, reliability and efficiency of NPP operation, extending the operational lifetime of power units, improving technical support, maintenance and repair systems.
During such meetings, professionals identify problem areas in all specified segments and prepare appropriate recommendations.
