On September 2, Acting First Vice President – Chief Technical Officer and acting Board member of JSC "NNEGC "Energoatom" Oleksandr Ostapovets met with the winners of the journalist competition “Nuclear Industry of Ukraine: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow” at the premises of JSC "NNEGC "Energoatom" and presented them with gifts from the Company.
Energoatom CEO Petro Kotin thanked the young researchers for their work: “Your papers prove that modern Ukraine is impossible without nuclear generation.”
Oleksandr Ostapovets also thanked the participants for their interest and awareness of such a complex topic.
“Energoatom will continue to hold similar events to popularize nuclear energy among the public and attract more young people to the industry,” he added.
In turn, the winners and participants of the competition thanked the Company for the opportunity and support of young researchers.
“Nuclear energy is a basic science. It is the safest energy source and the best generation created by humankind. And it's good that scientists cooperate with Energoatom,” said one of the winners, Kostyantyn Simeyko.
Another winner, Yevhen Malyi, added, “My paper is dedicated to nuclear energy, and I believe this is a crucial area. russia's military actions against Ukraine have shown the importance of nuclear power, which provides electricity to our homes.”
As a reminder, the contest, organized by Energoatom in cooperation with the Ukrainian Nuclear Society and the Atomic Trade Union, started on June 6, Journalist's Day. Its goal is to encourage future media professionals to engage in a thorough discussion and exchange of views.
The contest jury selected the four best entries. The second place was awarded to Yevhen Malyi's “New Nuclear Cycle. Nuclear Energy Will Change Our Life for the Better” and Yaroslav Lyubyan's “Nuclear Industry of Ukraine: Development Despite the War”.
