Energoatom joined the EU Industrial Alliance on Small Modular Reactors

The corresponding decision was made at a meeting of the Board of JSC “NNEGC “Energoatom”.

The signing by head of the Company Petro Kotin of the Declaration on agreement with the main goals and principles of work of the European Industrial Alliance on SMR became the evidence of joining.

The goal of the Alliance is to accelerate the development, demonstration and deployment of the first SMR projects in Europe in the early 2030s.

The Alliance brings together SMR developers, researchers, employees of financial institutions, operators, regulators, training centers and public organizations, who will work together on a strategic action plan and roadmaps for the rapid implementation of small modular reactors.

“Taking into account Energoatom's agreements with Holtec International and other partners, strengthening cooperation with European states will help Ukraine to achieve its goal – implementation of SMR technology by the 2030s,” Petro Kotin emphasized.
