Energoatom submitted proposals for changing the terms of the operating license for ZNPP reactor facilities

President of SE "NNEGC "Energoatom" Petro Kotin said that the Company, as an operating organization – NPP operator, submitted proposals to the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine (SNRIU) regarding changes to the license terms for the reactor facilities of the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhya NPP.

"We propose to limit the operation of power units by "cold shutdown" and "repair shutdown" conditions. We cannot now ensure the operation of the power unit 5 in compliance with all requirements for nuclear and radiation safety, because it continues to be in a "hot shutdown" state in conditions where the ruscists do not comply with our orders to transfer it to a safe cold state. SNRIU will consider our appeal in accordance with the established procedure and, I think, will make appropriate amends to the license," said Petro Kotin in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.

Meanwhile, it is currently not about a complete suspension of the license.
